Independent evaluators prepare a variety of documents related to the evaluation of Illinois energy efficiency programs. Evaluation documents include:
- Draft and final evaluation reports;
- Draft and final evaluation plans;
- Evaluation research;
- Net-to-gross (NTG) research; and
- Cost-effectiveness results.

The majority of topics related to evaluation are discussed in Large Group SAG meetings. However, the SAG Evaluation Working Group was established in 2021 to discuss evaluation questions that are more technical in nature and may not be of interest to the Large Group SAG. The SAG Evaluation Working Group meets as needed.
